How to Write for Children: Part I

PART I:

Many new writers think that writing for children is easy. Experience and knowledge teach that writing well for young readers is, in fact, is far more difficult than writing for adults. Children become bored easily. Older children can also see right through adults who wrote down to them, just has younger readers take everything they hear literally. They do not yet have the ability to think abstractly. There are also stylist considerations and matters of pace and cadence that must be considered when writing for children. Here is an examination of what I considered when I wrote The Legend of Hobbomock: The Sleeping Giant.
